BREAKING ATTENDANCE BARRIERS #2

YES, YES IT IS ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS!  Why?  Because every number has a soul, every soul has a story, and every story needs to be re-written by JESUS!

So what else can be done to BREAK ATTENDANCE BARRIERS?  I mean it is important to REACH PEOPLE, but isn't the goal to KEEP PEOPLE, in order to MAKE DISCIPLES.   So what can we do.  this may sound simple but trust me its a HUGE KEY in BREAKING BARRIERS.  Ready.....

GET PEOPLE CONNECTED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!

The two places we want to connect people to as quick as possible at GRANITE are SMALL GROUPS and MINISTRY TEAMS.   Why?  Because people THRIVE and FEEL VALUED inside community!

If we are not adding people too MINISTRY TEAMS it is a sign of an UNHEALTHY CHURCH/CAMPUS.  Not adding to MINISTRY TEAMS not only pushes people out the back door of the church, it LACKS VISION.  And people who LACK VISION shouldn't leaders, and they do not value the PLAN OF GOD in others lives.

If we are not adding people to SMALL GROUPS, then we are robbing people of LIFE CHANGING COMMUNITY.

At GRANITE we say PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD, SO PEOPLE MATTER TO US, so lets get people connected as quickly as possible!

LEADERS LEAD

In the book GO BIG the author suggests as goes the pastor so goes the church. In the GRANITE CONTEXT I would put it this way, AS GOES THE MINISTRY LEAD SO GOES THAT MINISTRY. We are a team oriented, team driven church, meaning, as LEAD PASTOR allot of sharing has been given out in our ministry, with the PRIVILEGE comes incredible RESPONSIBILITY. One of the things I have been encouraging our MINISTRY LEADS in 2011 is to GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE MINISTRY AND ONTO THE MINISTERS. As a HIGH LEVEL LEADER you cannot afford to get bogged down in programs and must stayed focused on people, your ministry people. Eph. 4:11-12, encourages us to EQUIP SAINTS, not to run programs. Programs are important but they do not warrant our attention tot he point of neglecting our teams. It will be our team members who will provide healthy programs, as we pour our lives in maintaining healthy leaders. So lets make this post a little more interactive than usual and throw out some ideas on how to LOVE ON

Got To Love It

I am NOT venting in this post, I am simply sharing with you some of the crazy yet humorous things that happened in the past 7 days. 1. We had a former family who left our church a couple of years ago try to recruit one of our faithful families because we don't teach or use the Bible at GRANITE. 2. We had a family leave the church this week because we are to strict on how we teach the Bible and how serious we are about it. 3. I had a "christian" family tell me they left the church because of that darn rock and roll music we use sometimes to open up our services. 4. I baptized a man last week at the lake who said he was tuned in from the moment we sang Livin' On A Prayer (sung during our prayer series, and it was awesome) 5. Was told by a man that our church is to strict when it comes to holiness and purity, so he needed to find a new church that his lifestyle could fit in with 6. Was told that a man in our church was approached by someone and encouraged to leave
