GROWING CHURCHES ARE MESSY CHURCHES
If we are going to commit to GROWING CHURCHES by REACHING THE LOST then we have to get comfortable with MESSY MINISTRY. I ao sm proud to be part of the church I get the privilege to pastor. One of the GREAT GREAT blessing to me is to see people who have stepped out of a real world and have started a RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LIVING WORD and WRITTEN WORD OF GOD!
As ministry leaders we have to manage the TENSION that we will experience as FIRST GENERATION Christian work at TRANSFORMING THEIR MIND from a SECULAR VIEW to a BIBLICAL VIEW, but thats okay!
It's exciting to see so many sincere followers of JESUS growing and learning what it means to BE CHRIST in a lost world! Recently with all the tension in our world about pointing out peoples sins and what and who's right, I posted the following...
"IT'S JUST THE WAY I AM" so get over it... is never a good reason for anyone to LIVE IN SIN. It doesn't matter what the SIN OF CHOICE IS, pride, anger, gluttony, sexuality, you name it. GRANITE we are not called to be POLITICALLY CORRECT, we are called to be BIBLICALLY CORRECT.
Please be very careful as to what you post. Take time to learn WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY SAY. Just because a person USES BIBLE REFERENCES does not mean they are TEACHING BIBLICAL TRUTH. Just because you find something on the internet, done in a church, with someone using BIBLE REFERENCES DOES NOT MEAN, you have found TRUTH.
JESUS came to SAVE PEOPLE from their sins, to meet them where they are, and tells ALL US US, to stop living there, NO MATTER WHAT OUR SIN OF CHOICE IS. One more thing the WORLD, GOVERNMENT, DOCTORS, PSYCHIATRISTS, not even THE CHURCH gets to determine what is or what isn't sin, ONLY THE WORD, LIVING and WRITTEN does.
As CHRISTIANS we are not called to be ugly and judgmental towards people! We are called to first deal with the JUNK IN OUR LIVES, so we can SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE to our world.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY, WHATS DOES THE BIBLE SAY, WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY. GOD SAYS WHAT HE SAYS, AND HE MEANS WHAT HE SAYS. Love is not allowing people to remain in sin and darkness, love shares the GRACE, MERCY, TRUTH and FREEDOM that is ONLY FOUND IN CHRIST.
SIN IS SIN, and lets be very careful about "categorizing" or "rationalLYING" SIN. The wages of sin is death, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD is ETERNAL LIFE, which results in a CLEAN HEART and a BRAND NEW START. No matter if your sin is one of pride, lust, gluttony, porn, cheating, lying, sexual orientation, gossiping on facebook, or any other addiction because the list goes on and on so lets not jump on the HOT POTATO BAND WAGON.
THERE ARE NO PERFECT PEOPLE, just sinners in need of a SAVIOR, A SAVIOR who meets people where they are! A GOD who is not mad at SINNERS, but who is MAD ABOUT SINNERS, and that includes everyone reading this post. A GOD WHO makes all things new, and puts us on a path that reflects HIS GLORY and HOLINESS to our world.
TheWORLD says friends/family dont let friends/family drive drunk, and everyone is good with that, and should be. The WORD says friends/family dont let friends/family get devastated by sin, and everyone gets offended. CRAZY!
Let me close this blog out by saying ARGUMENTS never win people to JESUS! Lets show a broken and lost world the LOVE OF CHRIST, lets let GOD BE GOD, and introduce people to JESUS and allow HIM TO MAKE ALL THINGS NEW!
