Dream Then What

I closed my last blog (by the way blogging is new to me) with a challenge to share you dream once you have recaptured it. I say recaptured because I believe almost every ministry leader starts out of the gate with the dream, but it gets lost along the way. Anyway, why is it important to share your dream, I mean does it even matter, after all it's your dream right? WRONG! It's actually God's dream/plan/vision for your life, and He wants you to share it. Let me give you a few good reasons why it is necessary to share the dream.

1. Sets you apart as the leader - You have just set the mark
2. Once it comes out of your mouth it takes it to a HOLE NUTHA LEVEL
3. You become accountable
4. God will show up

There are a few more things to why it is necessary to share your dream, but for now take a few minutes and jot some of things down that came to your mind as you were reading the four reasons I gave you.

LEADERS LEAD

In the book GO BIG the author suggests as goes the pastor so goes the church. In the GRANITE CONTEXT I would put it this way, AS GOES THE MINISTRY LEAD SO GOES THAT MINISTRY. We are a team oriented, team driven church, meaning, as LEAD PASTOR allot of sharing has been given out in our ministry, with the PRIVILEGE comes incredible RESPONSIBILITY. One of the things I have been encouraging our MINISTRY LEADS in 2011 is to GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE MINISTRY AND ONTO THE MINISTERS. As a HIGH LEVEL LEADER you cannot afford to get bogged down in programs and must stayed focused on people, your ministry people. Eph. 4:11-12, encourages us to EQUIP SAINTS, not to run programs. Programs are important but they do not warrant our attention tot he point of neglecting our teams. It will be our team members who will provide healthy programs, as we pour our lives in maintaining healthy leaders. So lets make this post a little more interactive than usual and throw out some ideas on how to LOVE ON

Got To Love It

I am NOT venting in this post, I am simply sharing with you some of the crazy yet humorous things that happened in the past 7 days. 1. We had a former family who left our church a couple of years ago try to recruit one of our faithful families because we don't teach or use the Bible at GRANITE. 2. We had a family leave the church this week because we are to strict on how we teach the Bible and how serious we are about it. 3. I had a "christian" family tell me they left the church because of that darn rock and roll music we use sometimes to open up our services. 4. I baptized a man last week at the lake who said he was tuned in from the moment we sang Livin' On A Prayer (sung during our prayer series, and it was awesome) 5. Was told by a man that our church is to strict when it comes to holiness and purity, so he needed to find a new church that his lifestyle could fit in with 6.
