MULTISITE and GROWING CHURCH ISSUES - 2

In GROWING and MULTISITE CHURCHES one of the challenges that has to be addressed and revisited constantly is the issue of MINISTRY PRIORITIES.  In a GROWING and MULTIPLYING CHURCH we have to be careful of jumping into ALL WE CAN DO at the neglect of WHAT WE MUST DO!  Take a second and read that again.

One of the things we have said for years at GRANITE is WHAT GOT US HERE WON'T GET US THERE and its true.  HOWEVER the constant tension is working to KEEP THE MAIN THINGS THE MAIN THINGS!  With every thing we COULD DO there are certain things we MUST DO as LEADERS.

As leaders we MUST stay focused on TEACHING THE WORD, FELLOWSHIP, BREAKING OF BREAD and PRAYER.  This was and continues to BE GODS HEART according to ACTS 2:42.  As point leaders we must stay focused on making sure these continue to be the priority of the church and the MINISTRY WE LEAD.

But what about all the other things that HAVE TO GET DONE in order to continue GROWING and STAYING HEALTHY?  Thats where raising up and developing your leadership base comes in.  Everyone is gifted by GOD to serve THE BODY, and part of growing disciples is CALLING OUT OF PEOPLE WHAT GOD HAS PUT IN HIS PEOPLE.  Then committing and implementing strategic systems for development, continued training and encouragement.

Way to many LEADERS get caught in MINISTRY TASKS (that have to get done), at the sacrifice of the LEADERS PRIORITIES.  We can not and should not do EVERYTHING by ourselves, but MATURE and GROWING LEADERS still know how to GET THINGS DONE through TEAM WORK, influence, and clear communication.

What we do matters and we cannot afford to let the GOOD THINGS replace the BEST THINGS we should be investing our time and energy in.  Everything is important to get done, but not everything SHOULD BE DONE by you.

So how do we get there?  NEXT POST...
