TIPS FOR STICKY MEANINGFUL MEETINGS

As LEADERS who are constantly POURING INTO, INVESTING, PUSHING VISION and MOVING PEOPLE we find ourselves in a lot of meetings.  So as you can see  MEETINGS MATTER, they absolutely do and because of that I want to share some ideas to CREATE meetings that are EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, and EXCELLENT.

So here's some of my TIPS FOR STICKY MEANINGFUL MEETINGS...

  • Pick times that work best for your VOLUNTEERS
  • Announce the meeting WELL IN ADVANCE
  • Ask people to RESPOND to meeting requests
  • GIVE THE HOSPITALITY PART AWAY!  You can chair the meeting and also share the hospitality part
  • CREATE a nice, compelling, creative meeting space
  • Have some munchies, FOOD IS A GAME CHANGER
  • Have FUN
  • Always have a WRITTEN AGENDA, no shooting from the hip
  • TEACH LESS FOR MORE!
  • Have FUN (yep repeat because its that important)
  • Start meeting with CELEBRATION
  • Share GODS WORD
  • Use GRANITEISMS
  • SHARE SHARE SHARE your meeting with other leaders on your team
  • Expect and initiate CONVERSATION and PARTICIPATION
  • POST PICTURES of the meeting
  • Use a WHITE BOARD when possible
  • Think of COMMERCIAL BREAKS
  • Share STORIES, stories are FUEL to a leaders soul
  • Summarize with ACTION ITEMS
  • Follow up with EMAIL summarizing meeting
  • Circle up for CLOSING WORD and PRAYER
I know there's a lot here, but I believe each of these are essential to having a GAME CHANGING, MEMORY MAKING, KINGDOM IMPACT MEETING!

LEADERS LEAD

In the book GO BIG the author suggests as goes the pastor so goes the church. In the GRANITE CONTEXT I would put it this way, AS GOES THE MINISTRY LEAD SO GOES THAT MINISTRY. We are a team oriented, team driven church, meaning, as LEAD PASTOR allot of sharing has been given out in our ministry, with the PRIVILEGE comes incredible RESPONSIBILITY. One of the things I have been encouraging our MINISTRY LEADS in 2011 is to GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE MINISTRY AND ONTO THE MINISTERS. As a HIGH LEVEL LEADER you cannot afford to get bogged down in programs and must stayed focused on people, your ministry people. Eph. 4:11-12, encourages us to EQUIP SAINTS, not to run programs. Programs are important but they do not warrant our attention tot he point of neglecting our teams. It will be our team members who will provide healthy programs, as we pour our lives in maintaining healthy leaders. So lets make this post a little more interactive than usual and throw out some ideas on how to LOVE ON

Got To Love It

I am NOT venting in this post, I am simply sharing with you some of the crazy yet humorous things that happened in the past 7 days. 1. We had a former family who left our church a couple of years ago try to recruit one of our faithful families because we don't teach or use the Bible at GRANITE. 2. We had a family leave the church this week because we are to strict on how we teach the Bible and how serious we are about it. 3. I had a "christian" family tell me they left the church because of that darn rock and roll music we use sometimes to open up our services. 4. I baptized a man last week at the lake who said he was tuned in from the moment we sang Livin' On A Prayer (sung during our prayer series, and it was awesome) 5. Was told by a man that our church is to strict when it comes to holiness and purity, so he needed to find a new church that his lifestyle could fit in with 6. Was told that a man in our church was approached by someone and encouraged to leave
