MAKING A LIST AND CHECKING IT TWICE!

 One of the important DISCIPLINES at Granite United Church is keeping lists.  It is been said, "that if you aim at nothing you'll hit it every time."  Because NUMBERS MATTER, because numbers represent people and people matter to God, we must keep a running list of peoples names for a NUMBER of reasons!

FOR PRAYER - As leaders we must be praying for the people God brings to the church.

TO REACH - Whether we like it or not, many times, OUT OF SIGHT REALLY DOES MEAN OUT OF MIND.  If we are going to REACH and KEEP PEOPLE we must keep peoples names in front of us at all times.

TO GROW - The mission JESUS gave us was to MAKE DISCIPLES.  How can we move someone forward on the path of discipleship if we dont know who they are, where they are, and what their next step is.  Answer - YOU CAN'T!

By the way LISTS MATTER so much professional sports team's hire people to keep lists/stats.  Stats give clarity as to WHO needs to grow, WHAT needs to change and WHO needs to go.

Remember nothing great for God happens by accident, only on purpose!  SHOW ME YOUR BOOK, I'll SHOW YOU YOUR FUTURE!

LEADERS LEAD

In the book GO BIG the author suggests as goes the pastor so goes the church. In the GRANITE CONTEXT I would put it this way, AS GOES THE MINISTRY LEAD SO GOES THAT MINISTRY. We are a team oriented, team driven church, meaning, as LEAD PASTOR allot of sharing has been given out in our ministry, with the PRIVILEGE comes incredible RESPONSIBILITY. One of the things I have been encouraging our MINISTRY LEADS in 2011 is to GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE MINISTRY AND ONTO THE MINISTERS. As a HIGH LEVEL LEADER you cannot afford to get bogged down in programs and must stayed focused on people, your ministry people. Eph. 4:11-12, encourages us to EQUIP SAINTS, not to run programs. Programs are important but they do not warrant our attention tot he point of neglecting our teams. It will be our team members who will provide healthy programs, as we pour our lives in maintaining healthy leaders. So lets make this post a little more interactive than usual and throw out some ideas on how to LOVE ON

FOUR BIG QUESTIONS

At GRANITE moving the ball down the court means we are moving people into BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP.  And since we know PROGRAMS DON'T MORE PEOPLE but that PEOPLE MOVE PEOPLE we have FOUR BIG QUESTIONS we constantly ask in regards to those who are either NEW TO GRANITE or CALL GRANITE HOME.  What are those questions?  Well I'm glad you asked! Who are they? Where are they? What's their next step? Who's leading them?
